N S, India: [ RE: KSRTC Vajra thrill Mangaloreans ] Reply to N S, India Mar 10, 2010
I am a regular commuter in this Volvo aka Vajra bus in Bangalore. If an ordinary bus costs me, Rs. 10/- for a particular trip, Vajra costs anything from Rs. 25/- to Rs. 30/-. So I pay more than 100% extra. In return I get good service, i.e. comfortable seating, AC, a decent enough crowd and most important is freedom from pick-pocketers. For that matter, I am proud that I haven't been cheated by any auto drivers or had to face a loss of wallet in Bangalore till date (touchwood)

So the big question is how much will be the price for the Mangalore-Udupi-Manipal trip? Are the regular commuters like bank employees, college students, business professionals willing to pay the extra buck for comfortable journey? Will the frequent bad roads be a hurdle to this low ground clearance bus and force KSRTC to withdraw the service? The seating capacity is also very less and later they should not feel it is taking them into losses!!

But I want this service to click. It will be a gift to DK & Udupi district citizens.

Putting in more stops between mangalore to manipal will defeat the purpose of these a/c buses. One, there are more than enough people plying the route directly from manipal to managalore and vice-versa. Two, the people who pay 20% more, would not want people standing besides them and making things uncomfortable. The more people gathered under one area, the more power the a/c will require to cool, and the more diesel will be utilized to run the bus, thus creating inefficiences in the return on their investment for KSRTC.

Frankly speaking these buses need to be run on good roads and u all know how good the highways are in our district, first improve the roads and
then bring in all these luxury machines on road, or else its jus a waste....
Narain Das, India: [ RE: It was nitya ananda at swami\\\\\\\'s ashram ] Reply to Narain Das, India Mar 10, 2010
People are being too harsh on Sw. Nityananda.
Did he ever preach that one should not have sex life. These are two adults enjoy their sex energy--the swami and the actress. It is not anybody else's business to judge or condemn. Somebody who plays the role of spying on the Swami should be condemned.
Most of our gods did have their sex life with wife, gopies or girl-friends, and they are all worshipped. And who says Hinduism is against sex? Others who are talking against sex are hypocrites or revengeful people. They need psychotherapeutic treatment.

Dear Nelson,
Srilankan President has 3 brothers. All of them are now involved with the government. We can call it a family business. Defense Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapakse
Presidential Advisor, Basil Rajapakse
Chamal Rajapakse, Ports and Aviation Minister
His son yoshita is in Military. Rjapakse is strengthening his iron grip of the country day by day. General Fonseka was supposed to spill the beans about the human rights abuse during the recently concluded war against Tamil tigers and tamils population in particular.

It's indeed a good decision taken by the Govt. of Karnataka. Mangalore was in very much need of such buses. At least now we can travel to udupi with ease. I think BJP has done a commendable job. Volvo city buses were very much needed by the people of the city. As this is costal city and the humidity in the city is more. I'm sure this will going to work. We would also like the govt. to introduce more volvo buses in the prime routs within Mangalore city. Yeddi govt Jai ho!!!!!!!!

D P Maam, you are right. The Bill introduced by H D Deve Gowda was tried by the NDA as well to pass in the Parliament but failed. Somanath Chatterjee who bid an emotional farewell to the Lok Sabha last year mentioned that the failure to see the Women's Bill pass in the parliament is one thing he will regret the most.

Otherwise, he would go abroad and create a big tamasha about his honeymoon.

Kiran, USA: [ RE: Hunt on for Swamy Nithyananda, K'taka Govt to take strict action ] Reply to Kiran, USA Mar 10, 2010
shaikh mohd rizwan, Turkey,
I do not know what exactly you mean by worshiping someone - worship could mean adore, respect, bow, touch the feet, do a namaste/namaskara, offer fruits/flowers, break a coconut, perform aarathi, chant prayers, light candles, etc - so next time you use the word, please clarify .

Regarding Jesus, you ask for something I did not say, but here it is anyway. He said (John8:58)before Abraham was, I AM. - Now this can be interpreted as the mahavakya -- aham brahmasmi, but again, that is not what I talked about - I talked about him saying ye are all Gods in John 10:34. I don't want to elaborate.

The Indian greeting of Namaste is the recognition of mutual divinity. Swami Nityananda did not prove nor disprove anything. Swamis do not take the place of God - what does it mean when we are all Gods? Some people can be more realized about their divine nature than others.

If you are really good at logic, think deeply on this and see if you can understand the logic: If there is a creator, the creator cannot be separate from creation.
Hint: Any separating material between creator and creation, is also part of creation.

N S, India: [ RE: Women's bill was worth the risk - Sonia ] Reply to N S, India Mar 10, 2010
Good job Sonia and UPA. The Yadavs probably do not have enough women leaders in their party and they fear losing out on the reserved seats, especially when Bihar 2010 Assembly polls are fast approaching and Laloo has a lot at stake.

Dr. Raj Hegde, CPM supported the Bill and Brinda Karat was upset over the Bill not being passed on International Women's Day. She was also unhappy over the Pub Attacks in Mangalore. But she is waiting for the newspaper boy to inform her about a 9 year old girl's molestation in Kolkata Airport.
